How To Help Your Haas Control Cabinet Keep Its Cool

Posted on Mar 17, 2017 12:00:00 AM

CabCool_193x163.jpgWe’re winding up one of the hottest summers on record in many parts of the country, which means the inside of many CNC shops haven’t been particularly comfortable. Heat and humidity can be tough on factory workers, but it can be murder on CNC machine electronics.

Over time, excessive heat breaks down electrical components and wiring that can lead to erratic control behavior or outright failure. To prevent unplanned downtime, it’s a good idea to keep the inside of the control cabinet as cool as possible. Traditionally, this meant using fans to help air circulation. Unfortunately, just blowing hot air around may not be sufficient to keep the components cool or to reduce humidity. Further, fans can blow dust and dirt into the cabinet that can also lead to electrical problems.

Now Haas has developed a solution: CabCool – a fully integrated air conditioning system for 3-phase Haas CNC machines. CabCool is a factory-installed option that mounts directly to the control cabinet door. The A/C unit ships separately to be installed by your Torrance Haas Factory Outlet.

You can also add CabCool to your existing 3-phase Haas CNC machines built after 2007. You’ll get a modified cabinet door, A/C unit, hardware and wiring that is identical to the factory-installed system.
