The Haas Technical Education Center (HTEC) is a cooperative of over 1200 educational institutions including high schools, technical schools, colleges and universities that teach manufacturing technology through hands-on classes. The HTEC Network is a free membership-based program that enables educators who use Haas equipment in their classes to tap into the wealth of experience available from Haas and local Haas Factory Outlets, as well as interface with other HTEC member schools.
Haas has also recruited a number of HTEC Partners companies that offer expertise, advice, products and CNC teaching materials for CAM software, toolholding, cutting tools, workholding equipment, probing technology, coolant and much more.
One-day state and regional CNC Educator Training Conferences hosted by HTEC Member Schools are sponsored by local Haas Factory Outlets and are free to all educators. The Conference Programs provide educators with information, educational materials and methods, introduction to additional CNC technologies and partners, and the ability to network with peers. Each July there is also a 4-day Americas CNC Educators Conference.
Although many schools have experienced CNC machine instructors on staff, some new instructors require NIMS (National Institute For Metalworking Skills) -based training and credentialing classes provided by the HTEC Teacher Training Center.
In addition to the many ways Haas, through HTEC, helps prepare the next generation of manufacturing professionals, The Gene Haas Foundation is awarding $50,000 in scholarships to high school seniors who will pursue a post-secondary degree in machining and advanced manufacturing technology.
