Your most important asset doesn’t appear on your balance sheet. It’s the cumulative skills, talents and experiences of your workforce. That’s why you go to great lengths to stress workplace safety, especially for those who operate CNC machines.

Yet no matter how hard we try, there are always individuals who will cut a few corners and disable or defeat the mechanical and software safety measures built into every Haas machine tool. Probably the most common example is attempting to keep the machine’s doors open.

Of course, the doors are designed to remain closed whenever the machine is operating. Yet some operators defeat the safety locks so they can access the machine tool while it is in motion to fine-tune setups, perform tooling offsets or make other adjustments. Considering that machine tools move quickly in multiple directions, and that automatic tool changers and other accessories also move inside the machine, this is far from a good idea.

The fact is, no matter how many safety features are built into a machine tool, unless they are fully functional at all times, serious injuries can occur. That’s why we will perform a no-cost, initial safety inspection of your Haas CNC machines whenever a service technician is in your shop for a service call.

Moreover, if you suspect your CNC machine’s safety features have been tampered with or are no longer working properly, we will send a certified technician to your facility to perform a no-cost safety checkup and let you know what can be done to return your machine’s safety functions to original factory specifications.
