Haas customers recently had four opportunities to learn how Renishaw probes and Haas CNC machine tools work together seamlessly to reduce setup times by up to 90% and enable shops to make better products in less time and with less material waste.
This year’s advanced probe training events took place in three locations: The Milwaukee Factory Outlet in Brookfield, Northern Michigan University in Marquette, MI and Northcentral Technical College in Wausau. This range of locations made it convenient for customers throughout the area to attend.
The workshops centered on the Renishaw OMP40-2/OTS in-process probes. Topics covered included:
- Calibrating Renishaw OMP40-2/OTS probes
- Re-installing & Re-calibrating an OTS probe after moving it
- Moving OTS optical window
- Re-loading Renishaw probe programs into the Haas control
- Setting filter settings in OMP40-2/OTS probes
- Demonstration using GUI/IPS/VQC probing templates
- Variable degree Bore/Boss probing
- Variables used in probing operations
- Manually programming OMP40-2 probes
- Implementing an OMP40-2 probing cycle into a program
- Implementing a tool breakage detection cycle into a program
In all, more than 70 Haas customers participated in these sessions.
